Application Java Developer Summary:

Signature Consultants is seeking an Application Java Developer to work on a contract position with one of our clients located in Miami, FL. The candidate will work closely with administrative and academic offices to plan, implement, support, and maintain customization and/or functionality for client and web-based system capabilities that will enhance services for students, faculty, and staff. The candidate must have the following technical skills for this position:  Java/Javascript; automation tools like Puppet, Chef or other; Lambda or other Development in AWS and experience with coding with APIs for example to AWS, AdobeConnect, etc.

Responsibilities:

• Develops in a variety of object-oriented and proprietary application languages.
• Establishes and maintains software code documentation, technical specifications and API documentation
• Works in conjunction with project managers and colleagues to assure compatibility and consistency among all systems and processes
• Follows Quality Assurance processes with extreme attention to detail
• Develops applications for multiple platforms and browsers.
• Provides end-user support for any possible inquiries or issues related to developed applications.
• Performs data migration, translation and loading between applications.
• Interprets departmental rules and policies related to information systems and recommends new and improved programs to effectively manage the information systems functions.
• May supervise lower level staff

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Studies or other technical discipline and three (3) years related experience OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as GIT or SVN
• Familiarity with Angular JS, Microsoft SharePoint and PHP
• Familiarity with Agile methodology
• Ability to demonstrate initiative, attention to detail and strong problem solving skills
• Experience writing technical documentation and procedures
• ServiceNow and Qualtrics development are a plus
