Integration Engineer

Integration Engineer Summary:

Signature Consultants is looking for an Integration Engineer to work on a contract position with one of our clients located in the Boca Raton, FL area. The Integration Engineer is expected to remain current on current and emerging technologies, drive continuous operational improvement and promote new technology solutions. A high level of flexibility, adaptability and innovation must be demonstrated.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Evaluate and design solutions to integrate WebSphere MQ, DataPower, MuleSoft and web services applications into new and existing environments.
  • Evaluate, design, deploy, and tune Weblogic servers.
  • Provide support at all levels including overseeing Managed Service Providers for 24 hour support.
  • Provide input into strategy and define tactical plans to execute strategy for integration technologies.
  • Drive collaboration with developers, architects and peer engineers in order to understand functional needs, implement appropriate solutions and define the future roadmap of integration technologies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders within the business and IT.
  • Lead problem resolution, efficiency improvement and automation efforts.
  • Identify and evaluate new technology solutions to meet current and future business needs.
  • Provide creative solutions and problem solving to improve time to market for technology domains.
  • Provide thought leadership and mentoring of peers and junior engineers and administrators.
  • Establish and communicate best practices, standards and design patterns for integration technologies.
  • Identify and define skill requirements for support of various integration technologies. Develop and manage capacity planning and key performance indicators for integration technologies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in appropriate field.
  • Minimum of 8 years professional experience in middleware and integration technologies.
  • Demonstrate high degree of technical leadership.
  • Experience in a design or architectural role with the responsibility of setting technical direction and defining a future roadmap for middleware and integration technologies.
  • Experience supporting various integration platforms from level 1 support all the way through Level three engineering support.
  • Demonstrate high degree of analytical and creative problem solving skills.
  • High level of organizational maturity and experience in an enterprise-level environment.
  • High degree of organization and planning with the ability to develop and drive tactical plans to execute strategy.
  • Must possess both broad and deep skills in application integration, messaging, enterprise service bus and web services technologies
  • Must be highly motivated, possess the ability to drive collaboration across multiple teams and have a strong focus on adding efficiencies to processes and technical tasks within an enterprise
  • Demonstrate ability to work across functional teams to achieve complex objectives and goals.
  • Able to manage shifting priorities, handle multiple demands and be effective in carrying out assignments even when details are ambiguous.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to articulate concepts, solutions or recommendations to senior management, other technical subject matter experts and audiences with little technical knowledge.
  • Able to perform work with limited supervision seeking guidance as needed for complex or critical matters.
  • High aptitude for learning new technologies and adapting to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Expert proficiency in SOA, ESB, messaging, transformation engines, web services, and data integration techniques and design patterns.
  • Expert experience in administration and solution design of DataPower XI50/XI52, WebSphere MQ and/or Message Broker. Understanding of HTTP, SSL, FTP, XML, MQ, JMS, SOAP, REST protocols.
  • Experience in XSLT, JavaScript, Perl, Python, bash and/or Unix shell scripting languages.
  • Experience in designing and deploying high availability architecture solutions using network load balancers, content switching, application clustering and/or other high availability technologies.
  • Conceptual understanding of RDBMS systems such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, DB2.
  • Familiarity with full software development lifecycle including functional & technical specification, documentation, QA processes, source control, maintenance and deployments Familiarity with agile development methodology.
  • Experience in administration and solution design of Java application servers such as WebSphere Application Server, WebLogic and/or JBoss is a strong plus.
  • Experience or exposure to CICD and DevOps
  • Experience cloud-based integration solutions is a strong plus.
  • Experience with ITIL service management process (change, incident and problem management).
  • Flexibility to work or be available after hours and on weekends as necessary.
  • Flexibility for minimal travel as necessary.
