Castle Engineering and Manufacturing are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a successful and niche energy company during an exciting time beginning a new project.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for providing mechanical aspects of a manned submersible project under instruction from the project engineer and project manager.
Other parts of the role include providing technical support to the production, logistics and integration departments, managing offsite engineering support, and checking and approving mechanical design.
To be successful in this role you will have….
- A degree level qualification or equivalent
- Extensive experience in material processing
- A strong understanding of material science including galvanic and corrosion effects
- A familiarity with inspection, testing and certification requirements
- Proven experience in people management
- The ability to work with respect to Lloyd’s Rules, ASME, PVHO, BS PD5500
- Strong technical writing and record keeping skills
- Experience with safety policies and regulations
- Extensive software skills: Microsoft Office, MathCAD, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, FEA using Ansys and/or SolidWorks Simulation
