Castle Engineering & Manufacturing are recruiting for an excellent opportunity as a Process Engineer to work within a global business who manage key projects for a number of blue chip companies across a broad range of sectors.

This role is an integral role to the business and will require someone who is used to working in manufacturing and has had experience of working in a hands on capacity who is able to implement changes.

 

You will be offering technical direction to all phases of Process Engineering in order to improve quality, reduce costs and maximize production. In this role you will also work with technical teams and will be solutions focused and offer input for all Product Engineering activities in order to develop new products and improve existing products.

As a Process Engineer you will be responsible for:

  • Implementing manufacturing upgrades and expansions by specifying, installing, starting up, and optimizing new processing equipment.
  • Supporting product changes and process requirements by designing and developing new extrusion and calibration tooling and fixtures.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements by analyzing scrap, downtime and quality problems.
  • Resolving processing issues by training Operations Team Members and providing technical assistance during the manufacture of cable products.
  • Developing new products and improves existing products by conducting trials, testing samples, determining costs, and documenting results.
  • Supporting NPD by conducting trials for raw material evaluations and new packaging techniques.
  • Providing current and accurate Manufacturing Specifications by compiling and maintaining product and process information in SAP and Engineering Drawing system.

 

To be successful in this challenging but rewarding role you will need to have the following:

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills and be able to function effectively in a team environment.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure to internal and external customers.
  • Ability to read drawings.
  • Experience of PFMEA and Control Plans is required.
  • Be confident at understanding technical drawings.
  • A proven track record in process design with the ability to design a robust production process capable of meeting volume targets and quality/cost/delivery measures.
  • Be data driven, methodical and have experience of making evidence based decisions.
  • Proven track record in improving safety, quality, delivery and cost performance - development and implementation of process controls

 

 

This role will be ideal for a process led engineer who has had exposure to the manufacturing and who enjoys offering solutions to problems faced.  You will need an ability to work across a number of functions and be able to develop good working relationships.

 

You will be working for a business that has recently entered into European markets and is expanding their offering to a growing sector and this role will be a driving force of that success.
