Castle Engineering & Manufacturing are seeking a Body Maker to join our Client's dedicated engineering team.  The business is a highly recognised brand who are committed to providing a high standard of service output for their customers

In the role of Body Maker you will be responsible for undertaking the repair and maintenance of vehicle bodywork, and carrying out routine bodywork inspections and servicing in accordance with Central Engineering Standard Operating Procedures.

You will also be required:

  • To diagnose vehicle body faults & specify the correct method of repair with defined quality & cost parameters
  • To carry out routine servicing & repairs on vehicle body components in accordance with Central Engineering SOP’s
  • To carry out collision & vandalism repairs on vehicle bodywork & structural components
  • To repair work arising from routine vehicle inspections, vehicle defect cards and annual test preparation.
  • To carry out the painting of minor bodywork following remedial repairs
  • To undertake fibreglass bodywork repairs
  • To carry out repair estimates for third party insurance recoveries
  • To record individual job times for the repair action either manually or electronically
  • To ensure parts replaced under warranty are returned to stores fully labelled and in clean condition
  • To ensure all parts are booked out from stores using correct procedure
  • To adhere to good housekeeping practices including general tidiness in the workshop and the return of all tools and equipment to their designated place
  • To attend on road vehicle breakdowns and recoveries
  • To carry out vehicle road testing where necessary to determine specific vehicle defects of following remedial repair

To be successful in this position you will need to have:

  • Relevant qualification (City & Guilds or equivalent) in relevant discipline
  • Possession of or capable of obtaining a full PCV licence ideally a fork lift license as well
