Castle Engineering Division are working on a really exciting opportunity to work as a Continuous Improvement Maintenance Engineer within a consumer goods manufacturing business. In this role you will be the driving force for world class manufacturing and will implement LEAN manufacturing methods across the business.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for implementing cost efficiencies, process improvements and will lead new product implementation across the site.  You will work with production and engineering to ensure the smooth implementation of new products and will continually measure and identify opportunities for improvements and the delivery of cost-down products.

As Continuous Improvement Maintenance Engineer your main responsibilities will include:

  • Implementation of new products
  • The planning and implementation of new/modified manufacturing methods
  • Carrying out Risk Assessments and applying safe working practices across the site
  • Improve continuity and plant efficiency
  • Driving a ‘world class’ manufacturing ethos throughout the business

To be successful in this role you will need to ideally have:

  • A recognised engineering qualification (HNC/ONC/Degree) in an engineering discipline
  • Experience of working to LEAN Manufacturing and 5S working practices
  • A knowledge of 2D/3D CAD
  • Ability to deal with tooling and manufacturing design
  • A willingness to learn and a can-do attitude
  • A proven track record of using your initiative and being self-motivated
  • A desire to progress and develop in your career and learn new disciplines and techniques
