Quality Inspector (VC5882) Pickering, England
Castle Engineering & Manufacturing are seeking a Quality Inspector to work within an established engineering business supplying into the Oil & Gas sectors. This is a great opportunity for someone with a keen attention to detail to move into an integral role in the business as a Quality Inspector and develop these skills within a technical engineering environment.
As a Quality Inspector you will have the following responsibilities:
- Verifies mechanical, machining and weld materials based upon FET drawings and test
- specifications.
- Inspection of fabricated and machined components to engineering drawings.
- Perform mechanical inspections for components and completed assemblies, paint
- shop inspections, visual inspections, thickness measurements and weld shop
- inspections.
- Assist with the company’s calibration program.
- Complete all necessary documentation according to the company’s requirements,
- (including timesheets, ECN.. etc.)
- Prepare certification packages as required.
- Assist with the filing of QHS&E records.
- Carry out job tasks safely using good working practises.
- Ensure good housekeeping.
- Monitor QHS&E corrective and preventative actions to ensure adequate and timely
- closure.
- Make recommendations to management for process improvements.
- Other duties as assigned by the QHS&E manager.
In the role of Quality Inspector you will be reporting to the QHS&E Manager and will ideally display the following skills and experience:
- Continuous improvement techniques essential.
- Problem solving & root cause analysis essential.
- Computer literate (MS Access and Excel) essential.
- Must be able to read and interpret drawings essential.
- An ability to understand drawings in line with basic quality control decisions essential.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Team player.
- Full clean driving license
