Castle Engineering are working for a well-established business who are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to work both individually as well as part of a team.  You will be required to deal with the mechanical design of various power products, incorporating various elements in the design such as panel layout designs working to customer requirements.   As well as design you will also be required to offer technical assistance and support to both internal and external customers.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will be integral to driving their product advancement and will need to offer inventive design solutions, working to customer briefs and creating designs for manufacture.

To be successful in the role of Mechanical Design Engineer you will need to display the following key skills and attributes:

• A relevant Mechanical Engineering qualification (HND or Higher)
• Have a working knowledge of noise reduction calculations and design
• Have used 2D Auto CAD and 3D Solidworks CAD systems
• Be adept at problem solving and analysis
• Knowledge of generators, control systems and motors is very beneficial
• Be experienced in taking a product from development through to final manufacture
• A good working knowledge Microsoft Office systems, including Project

Although this role is design focused it does offer a real opportunity to be involved in a full life cycle of a project and work with large Blue Chip companies in a growing and expanding business.  As well as design you will need to coordinate with purchasing, and production creating BOM’s and providing relevant product documentation.

• Communicate well at all levels within a business with a clear ability to liaise with internal and external customers at all stages of the process
