Maintenance Electrical Technician

Maintenance Electrical Technician (RL5277) Kingston Upon Hull, England

Castle Engineering & Manufacturing are looking for an Maintenance Electrical Technician for a global Manufacturing and Distribution business based on the outskirts of Hull. The Maintenance Electrical Technician will maintain optimised production and quality of the plant, by ensuring maintenance of machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment with the respect of cost and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate Health and Safety for the preventive maintenance and execution operations: risk assessments and method statements, site inspections, contractor supervision, accident and near miss investigations, compliance with standards (fire, electrical rooms working practice, energy isolation, work at height)
  • Execute the electrical equipment specific inspections on daily, weekly and monthly basis in full compliance with plant specific inspection master-plan.
  • Perform walk-by-inspection for electrical equipment (transformers, MCC, PLC, Motors, FC, sensors, cabinets, field cables,..) on weekly and monthly basis.
  • Guide and assist (when necessary) the production operators in performing and improving the walk-by-inspection process (detection of possible issues) through training and coaching.
  • Analyse equipment performance status (results of measurements, trends, sensors accuracy,...) on a weekly basis, identifying the possible risks and issuing notification and proposing clear actions (WO) with maintenance planner support.
  • Supervise on site the weekly scheduled jobs to ensure the H&S practice, quality of the job, cleanliness of working environment after job execution. To be involved hand-on in task execution (when necessary).
  • Validate and close the jobs in SAP after execution proposing improvements and sharing the practice.

Experience/Skills needed:

  • Proven background of working in a mechanical or electrical role
  • Previous supervisory experience would be highly advantageous
  • Highly adept at problem solving, and be able to identify and correct plant issues and deficiencies.
  • Be analytical in approach to work
