Maintenance Team Leader

Salary: + O/T x 1.5

Castle Engineering are working with a market leading business who have an enviable position within their sector.  We are recruiting for a Maintenance Team Leader to offer direction and support working in their maintenance department.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within maintenance with a leading manufacturing business who have recently made significant investments across the site.  The business is well established and highly respected in their sector having been operating for over 50 years and they pride themselves on innovation and cutting edge design.  

As Maintenance Team Leader you will report directly to the Engineering Manager and will be responsible for 2 engineers within the department, offering guidance and support to the Engineering team.  You will need to be comfortable and able to work in a demanding manufacturing environment, be multi-skilled with an electrical bias ideally.

In the role of Maintenance Team Leader you will be required to:

  • Supervise, organise and monitor work
  • Oversee production ensuring jobs are recorded and regular reporting takes place 
  • Ensure all work is carried out to required standards following set procedures
  • Plan prioritise and distribute workloads as required
  • Ensure good time keeping and conduct of the team
  • Monitor and ensure that all health and safety guidelines are followed and that the working environment is safe
  • Manage and report any servicing, repairs and maintenance requirements that are needed
  • Be responsible for job management

To be successful in this role you will ideally have:

  • Previous experience maintenance
  • A relevant engineering qualification NVQ, 17th Edition
  • Some knowledge and experience in the operation, repair and servicing of general engineering process equipment
  • An ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Previous supervisory or team leader experience
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Good time keeping
  • A good understanding of Health and Safety and safe working practice
  • A flexible approach to work
  • Good verbal communication skills and be able to communicate sensitively, politely and clearly with employees, managers and third parties.
