Maintenance Manager

Salary: GBP40000 - GBP45000 per annum + benefits

Castle Engineering are working with an established business who have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Manager to work within their manufacturing facility.

 

In the role of Maintenance Manager, you will need have to have experience of successfully managing a team of engineers, preferably from within a production/manufacturing environment.  You will ideally be a Multi-Skilled Engineer with an Electrical bias who isn’t afraid of managing from the shop floor up.

 

Applicants must have exceptional people management skills and be process driven, with the knowledge and drive to deliver change and improvement projects in relation to OEE, SOP’s, planned preventative maintenance and process. This role offers great scope and will be involved in delivering significant change and improvement projects across the business in relation to engineering maintenance and the management of a team.

 

In the role of Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for:

 

  • Managing a number of improvement activities/projects across the site
  • Working in conjunction with the site-based engineers and management teams
  • Aligning engineering strategic plans to drive business improvements and performance
  • Communicating with key stakeholders
  • Maintaining daily, weekly and monthly engineering reports and using MI to drive OEE activity and improvements
  • Cost and resource management
  • Timely and regular communication to management of issue/ updates
  • Engage, advise and deliver on the site’s engineering priorities
  • Assist in developing an investment plan to meet business needs, year on year
  • Offer technical advice/support for identified issues to the site-based engineers
  • Advise & support on Engineering best practices and standards;
  • Redefining & developing SOPs
  • Support & train engineering teams in the understanding of PPM procedures to minimise downtime & improve efficiency
  • Managing improvement/investment projects together with ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety legislation

 

To be successful in the role of Maintenance Manager you will ideally need:

 

  • Experience of successfully managing and leading a team of maintenance engineers
  • Excellent hands on maintenance skills with an electrical bias
  • Production/manufacturing sector experience would be advantageous but not essential
  • Proven project management experience and of leading a team to deliver
  • An understanding of continuous improvement, lean principles and process improvement methodologies.
  • Experience of delivering change and improvements, implementing planned preventative maintenance plans and SOP’s
  • Experience in a similar role e.g. Engineering Maintenance Manager, Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, Project Engineer, Facilities Maintenance Manager.
