Castle Employment Engineering Division have been engaged by a market leading multi-national business who are seeking a Site Controls Engineer to work in the largest division of their group based in North Yorkshire. 

 

This is an amazing opportunity to work with and be a part of a highly driven team of engineers in a role where you will be responsible for the delivery of electrical and software solutions within a demanding manufacturing facility.   You will be driving software improvements and will apply and lead continuous improvement across the site.  You will be the site specialist and will offer assistance in development of new software as well as being the technical lead offering direction on breakdown situations.

 

As Site Controls Engineer you will need to display an ability to work on your own initiative as well as being able to work within a team.  Your focus will be to take the engineering department forward making improvements and efficiencies and developing process improvements and delivering system modifications and upgrades. 

 

This role will require you to:

  • Work in line with all Health & Safety Standards at group level
  • Have a proactive approach in offering solutions and applying process improvements
  • Be able to work closely across multi functions Production/Quality/Safety and group Controls teams ensuring set targets are achieved
  • Provide technical input on both a project basis as well as across the site and at group level
  • Attend regular Operations meetings as well as take part in and coordinate additional training

 

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • BEng Electrical/Software Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience within Controls in a manufacturing environment
  • Extensive PLC experience Siemens/Allen Bradley with knowledge of programming and diagnostics
  • Ability to design/develop SCADA/HMI systems and line reporting
  • Experience of fault finding and electrical control systems and automation networks such as Ethernet, Profibus, Profinet
