Castle Engineering Division are working on a really exciting opportunity to work as a Packaging Engineer within a renowned business working extensively within the automotive industry. In this role you will deal with the design, procurement and development of packaging within a world class manufacturing facility that is a Tier 1 supplier.

 

In the role of Packaging Engineer, you will implement LEAN/Six Sigma manufacturing methods across the business and will work with production and engineering to ensure the smooth implementation of new products and will continually measure and identify opportunities for improvements.

 

As a Packaging Engineer your main responsibilities will include:

  • Packaging design and development
  • The planning and implementation of new/modified manufacturing methods
  • Creating packaging SOP’s and Work Instructions, providing training as required
  • Continuous improvement and across packaging and supporting manufacturing and NPI
  • Incorporating all processes in the design of the packaging
  • Driving a ‘world class’ manufacturing ethos throughout the business

 

To be successful in this role you will need to ideally have:

  • A recognised Mechanical Engineering/Manufacturing qualification (HNC/ONC/Degree)
  • Experience of working to LEAN Manufacturing and Six Sigma working practices
  • A knowledge of 2D/3D CAD
  • Ability to design for manufacture and experience of packaging design
  • Experience in problem solving and offering innovative and real solutions
  • A proven track record of using your initiative and being self-motivated
  • A desire to progress and develop in your career and learn new disciplines and techniques
