Design Engineer (RL6513) Kingston Upon Hull, England
Castle Engineering and Manufacturing are seeking a Design Engineer to join a highly successful manufacturing business based in Hull.
The main purpose of this role is to undertake all design and new product development across all associated brands and channels. Beyond this, the role also includes linking into other NPD programmes and drive best practice for the category.
The key points of this role are as follows…
- Continuously monitor project progress and take appropriate corrective action to minimise design risks
- Support the engineering design activity within a NPD project team
- Development of design solutions for specified projects, and operating without the need for technical supervision.
- Responsible for delivering technical solutions meeting business requirements for time, cost and quality
- Definition of design solutions using tools available including 2D/3D CAD
- Development of working prototypes using machined parts, 3D printing for validation testing
To be successful in this role you will have…
- A HND/HNC/degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Previous experience in product design and development, minimum of 2 years
- Strong ability to use 2D/3D AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks
- Surface modelling skills
- CNC machining experience
- Material fabrication and assembly
