Quantity Surveyor/Contract Manager - Japanese Speaker (BBBH135229) Tokyo, Japan
Responsibilities:
- Looking for the optimal structure and planning of the execution of the installation on site together with the Site Manager in cooperation with the Project Manager / Project Director and/or Project Manager Commercial
- Successfully executing of contract and claim management at site
Tasks:
- Full knowledge of installation contract (technical and commercial)
- Identify risks and opportunities given by the contract with the installation company
- Facilitate the identification of claims and deviations
- Creation of formal correspondence to the installation company with regards of claims and deviations (e.g. notices, letters, approvals in order to safeguard rights/ contractual position)
- Ensure that documentation of claims/deviations are done in a structured way and compile back-up documents and prepare installation related Project Variation Offers towards the customer and formal statements on claims from and against
- Active support in negotiations with customer and installation contractor and/or third parties, together with the Project Manager Commercial, Project Manager / Project Director and Site Manager.
- Preparation and update regularly claim/ deviation reports and monitoring of all installation activities on site and approve quantities and deviations together with the Project Manager Commercial, Project Manager / Project Director and Site Manager
- Management of Field Work Orders at site
- Handling, controlling and approval of documents for payment release of invoices from installation contractors
- Responsible for claim, variation and change management related to installation works
- Site progress follow up and reporting with regards to installation management
- Safeguarding at site the process for timely information and documentation about deviations in the project ("Non-Conformity-Reporting") together with the Site Manager
- Clarification of legal matters together with the Legal Department and Project Managemer / Project Director
- Control of site correspondence with installation contractors
Candidate's profile
Education:
- Technical and/or Commercial college, technical studies, economics, legal or similar
Professional Experience:
- Experience in the international plant engineering and/or construction business
- Contractual correspondence and conduct important negotiations with customers, partners and suppliers
- Experience in the management of deviations, claims and contract amendments and variation/change order procedure
Competences:
- Ability to work in teams, assertiveness, willingness to travel, ability to communicate. Analytical thinking and structured working methods
Additional Experience:
- Any nationalities welcome but good command of Japanese and English languages (for correspondence and negotiation) - A MUST
- Skills in calculation
- Contractual knowledge for correspondence and negotiations
- Excellent IT knowledge (MS Office)
