Senior Licensing Specialist (Nuclear)

Senior Licensing Specialist (Nuclear) (JO014031) Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

Scope of Work
a. Works independently to develop plans, identify and support and prepare/oversee preparation of license
application by translating the safety information (technical input) into licensing documents that satisfies all
applicable regulatory and technical requirements.
b. Prepares and submits responses to regulator request for additional information.
c. Understands and researches regulated topics and develop technical and regulator strategies to resolve regulatory
issues associated with license applications.
d. Leads team of prime contractor and /the company staff to address significant licensing issues. Objective is to
obtain licenses in the most efficient manner to meet the schedule.
e. Develop proposed strategy, identifies input needed from other organization and prepares/oversees preparation
of licensing documents that meet all requirements.
f. Prepares/oversees the preparation and submittals of licensing documents to ensure they are complete and
comprehensive. The objective is to ensure that submittals to FANR meet all requirements and achieve desired
outcomes.
g. Identify and develops /the company regulatory process and procedures for use by /the company and the prime
contractor in carrying out licensing function
h. Reviews and comments on draft regulation, review industry operating experience, develops regulatory strategies
for addressing emerging regulatory issues
i. Devises methods of compliance with new licensing requirements and regulations and providing training and
instruction to affected /the company organization as need
j. Instruct and provide guidance to entry level licensing engineers and senior licensing engineer to develop their
capabilities to perform the licensing function.

Requirements

  • Bachelor in Engineering (or equivalent experience) or Master Degree
  • Experience Minimum 7 years experience in licensing and regulatory affairs for nuclear power plants or equivalent
  • Broad experience in other areas of nuclear power plant operation such as engineering, maintenance, operations, etc.
  • Experience in safety and accident analysis
  • Experience in major utilities projects development
