Job Duties:
The Travel Manager-North America is responsible for the delivery of Travel Department Services in North America. In addition the manager partners with the Travel Manager-International to identify suppliers and lead supplier selection, negotiation and contracting projects. The ideal candidate has a strong industry understanding and stays abreast of travel trends and travel technology developments. This position reports directly to the Global Travel, Meetings & Events Manager.

 

 

Job Qualifications:
Duties Include:
-Managing contract/agreement documents per policy
-Accountability for supplier relationship management including supplier assessments, reviews, scorecards, service level agreements, etc.
-Gathering and analyzing travel spend data to report on trends and areas of potential cost savings
-Communication of initiatives and information to internal clients and management via Yammer, our Travel & Expense Portal and other forms of communication
-Educates stake holders regarding policy, travel program initiatives and project plans
-Managing projects and process development of activities in support of travel initiatives
-Monitoring and managing the performance of strategic and business critical suppliers that ensures uninterrupted services to the corporation
-Influencing and partnering with internal clients and suppliers to optimize service, address operational issues, develop policy updates, and minimize costs
-Analyzes all spend data and identifies opportunities for cost reduction.
-Provides NA portion of management reporting for quarterly travel spend and savings opportunities
-Ensures on-time delivery, maintains quality standards, and takes corrective actions when necessary in relation to procurement of products and services

-Working knowledge of travel industry best practices and pricing models of suppliers and technology firms
-Understanding of travel industry technology applications and how to leverage them to maximize the end user experience and add cost benefits to the corporation
-Able to develop a corporate spend strategies incorporating industry best practices and benchmarks
-Exceptional achievements in customer service and relationship management
-Strong analytical, negotiation and organization skills
-Expertise in use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
-Ability to work and influence results across departments and geographies to achieve desired results
-Ability to do independent research to gain understanding of commodities, commodity markets and suppliers
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Bachelor’s degree plus 6- 10 years of practical, relevant travel experience
-Industry certifications
-Able to travel as needed
-Meeting, events & tradeshow knowledge
-Experience with Sabre or other GDS
-Experience with Concur Travel & Expense or other OBTs
