We are interested in an experienced, honest, reliable, hard-working Child Care Assistant Director who will provide first-class service and has a passion for working with children. This includes the ability to lead a team of teachers and support staff to accomplish administrative, educational, operational, financial, and logistical functions in accordance with state licensing regulations and The Sunshine House operating policies. Other requirements include excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and the ability to evaluate and solve problems.

The ideal candidate for this position should at a minimum have at least a an associate's degree in Early Childhood Education (other degrees considered), have two to five years of experience in a licensed childcare facility, meet all state requirements for early childhood teaching positions, and maintain state in-service requirements. In addition, he/she must meet the physical requirements of the job and have proficient computer skills with a wide variety of business-related software programs.

The following is a representative list of duties and responsibilities associated with this position:
-- Oversee the implementation of The Sunshine House Brain-Based Learning and Creative Curriculum including the ability to provide developmentally appropriate play and classroom environments.
-- Ensure the following administrative duties are performed: financial feasibility (accounting, budget, and cost control), internal marketing and customer service (enrollment tours and parent engagement), maintaining staff and children files, and maintaining state licensing and other statutory regulations.
-- Communicate with the Regional Director and the appropriate management support team members concerning administrative, operational, and personnel matters as needed.
-- Meet with parents, staff, and administration to facilitate students’ developmental goals and excellent customer service.
-- Recruit, hire, and supervise administrators, teachers, and support staff.
-- Maintain state training requirements and provide opportunities for staff to obtain professional development.
-- Market the program in the community and work with local childcare organizations and community officials.
-- Adhere to The Sunshine House Health and Safety procedures to ensure the health and safety of children, parents, and staff.
-- Communicate (stoop and bend) with the child on their level
-- Plan and prepare balanced nutritious meals to a child care facility.
-- Drive a multifunction bus.
-- Lift up to 30 lbs.
-- Stand on feet for long periods of time, at least 95% of the day
-- Function in any capacity needed within the child care facility.



• Minimum of an associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education.

• Two to five years’ experience in a licensed child care facility.

• Meet all state qualifications for classroom teaching positions.

• Proficient computer skills in a variety of business related programs, including Microsoft Office.

• Knowledge and understanding of all current state and local regulations.

• Maintain state in-service requirements.

• Neat, clean, and professional appearance.

• Hold a valid driver’s license. Able to transport children in a company bus.

• Certified in Child/Infant CPR and First Aid

• Able to react to emergencies within 50 feet in 15 seconds or less. Must have the ability to move from a seated to a standing position quickly to respond to emergency situations as necessary.

• Must have acceptable hearing and visual capabilities in order to monitor the environment and react quickly to situations as necessary.

• Must be able to care for and interact safely with children.

• Able to plan and prepare balanced nutritious meals for the facility.

• Must be able to bend, stoop, and squat at least 95% of the day.

• Able to stand on feet for long periods, at least 75% of the day.

• Must be 21 years of age
