Purpose:
- Operational responsibility for the staff working in the Rental Department including training and development.
- To manage and optimise own fleet vehicles to maximise own fleet opportunities
- To work alongside New Business and Client Services to maximise opportunities for the Rental Department.
- To liaise with Financial Control and/or the cross hire supplier to resolve client problems.

Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Management
- To improve processes and procedures within the Rental Department to facilitate growth and development.
- Ensure that own fleet vehicles are up-fleeted and de-fleeted efficiently and on time
- Plan and control own fleet vehicle order requirements with the Rental Manager
- Review post-contract term vehicles to identify any opportunities for own fleet rental vehicle supply
- Daily audit of reservations to ensure we have maximised our profitability on each booking, follow- up and resolve any errors made.
- Build relationships and seek opportunities within existing client base to maximize profitability.
- Liaise with Claims department, as required, regarding any damage issues to own fleet vehicles.
- General Management
- Attend weekly meeting with Rental Manager to provide an update on all on-going activities.
- Deputise for Rental Manager in their absence. Such duties to include:
- Weekly Trading
- Authorise and arrange cover accordingly for any holidays/absences

Measures of Success & KPIs:
- Fleet utilization rate to be greater than 90%, as measured over the month
- Target Fleet service & repair costs ( incl. tyres / excl. damage ) - £nil
- Delivery & Collection, excess mileage, damage and refueling income to at least exceed income
- Fine income to at least cover cost of fine plus fine admin fee

- Working within a rental environment
- Optimising processes and procedures to drive a consistent quality Client experience
- Driving change and delivering improvements
- Maximising opportunities to drive growth and revenue
- Managing workflow
Skills:
- Strong numerical and analytical skills be able to demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- A natural communicator, you will be confident, friendly and approachable with the ability to liaise effectively at all levels.
- Ability to manage and work using your initiative, ability to prioritise effectively and deliver to deadlines.
- Initiative and drive to create and improve systems of organisation to benefit the business.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel & Outlook skills
- Full driving licence held

Qualifications:
- 8 GCSE’s ( including Maths & English GCSE at Grade C or above )
- 3 ‘A’ levels or equivalent
