Spencer Ogden are currently seeking a highly motivated and dedicated solar expert to join our clients team in Taiwan.
As an independent adviser, the Solar Engineer will provide independent and Owner’s Engineering services through the entire life cycle of solar projects located in Taiwan.

Key responsibilities:
• Project: As part of the daily work, it is expected that you will be involved in technical advisory services for projects under development, construction and operation which may include but not limited to technical due diligence, construction monitoring, assessment of the project performance, site inspections and project management.
You will prepare and deliver technical reports, presentations and discuss methodologies and results with Customers
Solid knowledge of centralised solar PV projects, equipment and sensors including modules, inverters, trackers, BoP, solar stations and others components of the plant.
Experience in LV and MV electrical equipment design and
Experience in project acceptance tests and commissioning procedures for LV and MV electrical equipment (Equipment test data review)
Familiarity with PVsyst as well as other energy simulation software
Experience may also include a working knowledge of solar PV related regulations, codes and standards
Lead and support independent qualitative and quantitative analysis
Knowledge of IEC and other relevant certifications in the solar industry
Familiar with typical equipment for site inspections (thermographic cameras, I-V curve tracers)
Qualifications
Previous renewable energy, consulting, solar development, construction or operation experience or credentials
Written and verbal English and Chinese communication skills, comfortable addressing groups;
Proven HSE mindset
Self-starter, quick learner, takes initiative and ownership
Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail
High level of integrity and confidentiality
Ability to fit within team and comfortable with working independently for certain periods;
Able to work effectively and professionally with diverse people – clients and co-workers
Ability to walk over rough or slippery terrain as experienced on heavy construction sites
Ability to work in inclement weather conditions as experienced in locations where solar energy projects are typically located
Ability to work in electrical substation and power plants environment.
Ability to sit as required for typical office work and stand for extended periods for works on field.
Experience of working at field and previous holder of applicable certificate for working in power plants

Role is due to start immediately, based in Taiwan
