I am currently looking for an experienced SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to lead the entire database platform and be responsible for making sure that all the databases are reliable, stable and performing at the required standard.

 

You will play a lead role in the Digital Transformation Programme and other projects requiring expert input on Database Administration requirements / techniques and be the lead technical authority on any Database Administration for the business moving forward.

 

As the successful Lead SQL Database Administrator (DBA), you will need to maximise efficiency of costs management of databases and data driven services in Microsoft Azure environment, as well as, determine suitable database backup and restore strategies that ensure databases are correctly archived without impacting live usage.

 

Essential skills and experience needed:

  • Expert knowledge of database administration theories and practices
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft BI stack (SSIS / SSRS / SSAS - configuration and security)
  • SQL 2008 - 2016/17 (Installation, Configuration, Security and Integration of databases)
  • Performance Tuning (Instance / Database / OS / Network)
  • Thorough understanding of High Availability particular SQL Always On
  • Five or more years' experience in database life cycle management and support of production clustered environment.
  • Experience of working in the Microsoft Azure Environment with particular emphasis on data services
  • SQL Server certification or equivalent experience & knowledge.
  • SQL Backup and disaster recovery strategies.
