Our client, a leading manufacturer of building materials, company is looking for a “Civil Engineer Supervisor” to work under the following:
Function:
- Responsible for the coordination of the civil works on site entrusted to him.
- Attached to the Civil Engineering Manager, he oversees all activities related to civil engineering, supervision of works, management of subcontractors and site monitoring reports.
- It will aim to ensure that subcontractors deliver civil works safely, quality and on time and on budget.
Positioning in the organization main missions and responsibilities
- Carry out the work according to the safety rules of the project.
- Deliver the work according to project definitions, technical information provided, budget allocated, and approved schedule.
- Implement the project work schedule.
- Coordinate civil works with other activities.
- Monitor progress of on-site work and communicate progress to the on-site planner.
- Communicate with stakeholders and share information in a timely manner.
- Participate in the preparation of reports when required.
- Participate or organize coordination meetings with the team or stakeholders involved.
- Verify that the progress of the work declared by the subcontractors is consistent with the physical progress on site
- Develop "3 week forecasts" of quantities (m2, m3, tn,) to be performed on site, including the number of personnel required for this purpose.
- Stop work in case of immediate health and safety risk and remind the team to proceed in the same way if required.
- Respect the client's standards on the health and safety management of entrepreneurs implemented in France.
- Ensure that all working conditions, in accordance with the health & safety requirements of France and the customer (in case of difference the last two, the most rigorous regulations must be adopted), are put in place at each location. work of all workers.
- Validate work permits and challenge subcontractors' methods.
- Communicate with local health and safety authorities to regulate work safety
- Put in place the correct use of certified means of personal and collective protection by the workers.
- In the event of an incident, organize and provide the necessary assistance to the victims, and organize any activity required to prevent the evolution of unwanted situations.
- Ensure that workers who have not received training or mandatory medical examinations are not allowed to perform their activities.
- Provide leadership and commitment to Health and Safety standards and demonstrate a personal commitment to continuous improvement of the workplace safety provisions of each employee in their respective workplace.
- Evaluate and state the risks of the site and develop plans such as fire plan, traffic plan, emergency plan.
- Check the reports and equipment certificates of the subcontractors
- Staying firm in all security decisions and procedures
Dimensions of Function/ Means
- The position will be attached to the Civil Engineering Manager, in a project team of about fifty people.
- It will work in close collaboration with other state bodies and project control services.

Knowledge / Skills Required
- Minimum experience of 7 years on site with high safety rules
- Minimum experience of 7 years as supervisor of work on an industrial project with a team and subcontractors of 150 people.
- The candidate must be primarily a field person, he will spend most of his time in the monitoring.
