OPERATION AND OCNTROL SYSTEM SCADA (TEST & COMMISSIONING ENGINE (JO012273) Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Responsibilities:

  • Work under OCS WPM and in close cooperation with OCS PDA, Interface manager and SW/HW offshore Team.
  • Planning T&C activities in coordination with OCS WPM and liaison with Installation as per the access dates in order to meet the key dates & milestones
  • Produce and maintain OCS SW/HW Data and Configuration Management on site and ensure adherence.
  • Ensure all OCS configuration and Change Management processes are followed by the T&C team.
  • Define T&C strategy activities in coordination with OCS WPM establish requirements related to T&C activities and perform associated cost estimate and schedule
  • Ensure the accomplishment of Milestone
  • Prepare and perform T&C activities (Documentation, Software Installation, Testing & Commissioning, Survey & Defect Reports.)
  • Work on the staging platform to configure and prepare the equipment for onsite deployment.
  • Preparation for the test campaign defined by the WPM, this preparation involves all the necessary co-ordination/communication in terms of PTW needs, Test Sheets-Tools preparation, and communication with involved stakeholders/Clients.
  • Propose improvement for T&C methodologies and process
  • Specify, choose and deploy methodologies (including metrics), tools/platforms necessary to T&C and acceptance activities.
  • Ensuring proper execution of PICO tests, field correspondence test, integration tests and acceptance tests.
  • Ensure that his/her activities do not impact the operations in any way
  • Investigate faults on the system and provide a first analysis.
  • Ensure the application of Thales standards and process on the T&C activities
  • Work with OCS Systems Engineers to ensure that all the requirements are properly testable – including the testing method – and that full T&C Traceability can be put in place and maintained with the verification test scenarios.
  • Work with the development teams and third-party suppliers to analyse the requirements to ensure that they are testable and ultimately capable of being accepted according to the proposed T&C strategy.
  • Coordination and interface with different internal/external parties.
  • Prepare transition between France/Italy & Dubai Integration/T&C teams (competencies & testing).
  • Coordinate with the design team for the responses to Requests for Information (RFIs) and MoM Thales actions when required
  • Participate to internal Peer Review (if required).
  • Support and/or represent Thales at Client Meetings
  • Prepare the setup in the test platform for various releases
  • Perform the regression tests in the platform before the site test to ensure that there is no regression
  • Provide on a weekly/Daily basis the necessary update of the OCS T&C activities status to the OCS WPM.
  • Maintain test results and traceability to requirements
  • Generate, analyse & report results from testing.
  • Manage problem/defect reporting using Thales defect management tool (JIRA) rectification and clearance.
  • Raise the needs in term of resources and alerts to the OCS Work Package Manager.
  • Build a high performing motivated team.`

Skills and Experience: 

  • Proven experience in OCS/SCADA system Test and Commissioning.
  • A good working knowledge of Server software, real-time operating systems, security systems, database management and networking.
  • The candidate must have developed through his professional experiences the capability of managing contractors’ relationships.
  • Experience with installation , test and/or commissioning work from the railway industry
  • PC knowledge (MS Office) 
  • Able to work in autonomy, but strong self-aware of limits.
  • The capability of coordinating with different stakeholders in international context is required.
  • Ability to identify potential problems and propose solutions.

 

Qualification and Educational Requirements:

  • Degree in system/software engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of Software/System Integration experience in project implementation activities
  • Experience in Transportation low voltage application domains: SIG, SCADA, and Coms.
  • Knowledge on different communication protocols at Network and Application level i.e. TCP/IP, Modbus, HTTP, FTP, LDAP, SNTP, Serial and IEC.
  • Expertise on Application Servers for the software deployment, configurations.
  • Virtual environment experience/exposure-Highly desired.
  • Good analytical skills in order to identify analyse and propose technical solutions to the raising issues.
  • Strong Knowledge on System Development Life Cycle.
  • Flexible working hour and schedule (example: night or weekend), the position may require continuous night time activities.
  • Good analytical skills and reporting skills
  • Good command of written and spoken in English

 

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of Client SCADA Solution will be preferred.
  • Experience in Client methods, Tools and process is an advantage.
  • Experience in the Middle East is an advantage.
