Role Profile
My client, a leading food manufacturer, is looking for a Category Buyer to join their business and oversee one of the growing product divisions. You will be responsible for the trading plan to reduce costs and optimise terms with partners whilst maximising turnover and profitability and ensuring the quality and cost of the product to the customers are maintained.
You will be part of a large international organisation with a highly influential buying and marketing power & a brand with sustainable and progressive financial support. Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to;
- Grow the category by sourcing new suppliers and brand partners
- Coach and develop your team in line with individual team ambitions and business requirements
- Ensure delivery of cost budget against targets
- Focus on joint initiatives with suppliers such as cost saving and quality improvements
- Efficiently manage contracts including commercial negotiations & SLAs
About You
The successful candidate will have experience within a similar environment, with the below skills and experiences essential.
- Degree Qualified
- Purchasing experience within a large FMCG food manufacturing business.
- Well experienced in handling supplier relationships.
- Detailed knowledge of allergens, labelling & HACCP etc.
- Excel experience essential
- ERP / Invoicing experience highly beneficial
- Hands on, assertive and pro-active approach to your work
- Have an analytical method of working, with the ability to spot trends and areas of improvement
- Ability to adapt and lean in a fast moving, evolving environment
