Role Profile
Our client, a well-known and rapidly growing distributor, is looking to appoint an experienced Transport & Logistics Manager for their London operation. You will be responsible for ensuring an efficient and compliant transport function while maintaining best in class customer service. Additionally you will be responsible for successfully coaching and developing your colleagues throughout the operation via structured appraisals and development plans. Additional responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Managing department compliance on transport legislation
- Planning and allocation of work using planning systems ensuring on time, in full delivery & collections.
- Reviewing and improving productivity through effective provision of planning information.
- Cost effective utilisation of vehicles and management of vehicle maintenance.
- Incident and accident investigation.
- Developing business by providing excellent service
About You
The successful candidate will have experience within a fast-paced distribution operation, ideally within a multi-drop operation. You must be able to clearly demonstrate how you create a culture of engagement within your teams and be able to demonstrate clear examples of developing people.
Additionally, the below skills and experiences are essential;
- Continuous Improvement experience across an FMCG distribution operation.
- Experience managing a fleet of at least 30 vehicles and teams of 50+ colleagues.
- Commercially focused, with clear achievements against budgets / KPI's.
- Demonstrable knowledge of relevant transport legislation, including tachographs and Working Time Directive (WTD)
