Role Profile
Our client, a leading manufacturing business, are looking for a Junior Buyer to join the business on their site based in Manchester. The position will have exposure to all areas of the business, specifically working with the wider purchasing, production planning and manufacturing teams.
The role is heavily focused on managing and maintaining the strong relationships with suppliers, as well as the following;
- Work with both suppliers and engineering businesses, with the ability to interpret technical drawings.
Manage smooth processes around quotations - Have a full understanding of the products being purchased
- Manage any demand issues in an efficient manner
- Liaise, implement and manage warehouse delivery schedules
- Focus on continuous improvement processes to drive efficiency throughout the department
About You
The successful candidate will be an engaging person with strong communication skills which have been developed in a similar manufacturing environment.
Further it is essential that you are;
- Degree qualified or equivalent
- APICS Certified (CPIM)
- Have a minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience within a purchasing team within a manufacturing environment
- Strong MRP experience, preferable Oracle
- Proven continuous improvement experience in a manufacturing operation
