Senior Cost Accountant - Manufacturing
£38,000 - £42,000pa + Healthcare + Benefits

Role
My client, a multi-national manufacturer, is looking to appoint a Senior Cost Accountant for their operation based in Manchester. Responsibilities will include working closely with the Purchasing department in establishing standard costs for component parts and reviewing:  Work Orders, Routings and Bills of Material.  This position will also assist the Site Controller and Business Unit Project Managers to understand “Project Costs” and “Cost at Completion”.

Further aspects of the role include;

• Working with the local Operations and Supply Chain teams in reviewing variances to Standard Costs such as Purchase Price Variances, Work Order Variances, and Overhead Absorption.  
• Assessing the root cause and drive solutions.
• Participate in the month-end closing process by reviewing variances, preparing journal entries, and reconciling Inventory and Cost of Goods sold accounts.

About You
It is essential you have the following skills and qualifications in order to apply for the role;

• Bachelor Degree (preferably in accounting)
• A minimum of 5 years experience within Cost Accounting
• Working in a cost accounting role within a Manufacturing environment that utilized an ERP System, preferably Oracle.
• Experience in Project Accounting is highly beneficial.
• Intermediate Excel skills
