Profile
My client is looking for an immediately available Production Scheduler / Materials Planner to join their operation based in Manchester. The role will be responsible for procurement, materials planning and factory scheduling for the site, ensuring that production orders are completed on time and the sales team are supplied with achievable delivery dates.
Additionally, the position is accountable for;
- Utilise the MRP system in order to manage the raising of Job requisitions as well as the programming of Work Orders into the factory floor.
- Generate all Purchase Orders for materials, finished parts etc. adhering to agreed manufacturing requirements, specifications and customer schedules.
- Liaise with colleagues across Production, Sales and Suppliers regarding all matters relevant to ensuring the materials and/or services are provided as required and at specified quality levels.
- Conduct negotiations with suppliers in order to achieve the best costs, discounts, price breaks, etc
- Maintain supplier lead times for all product groups
About You
The successful candidate will have experience working in a similar position, preferable Aerospace or Automotive and environment with the below skills and knowledge essential.
- In depth knowledge and experience MRP systems
- Strong communication skills
- Work in an efficient manner, using initiative to develop skills and knowledge across the operation
- Positive approach to overcoming problems and challenges
Additionally, a professional qualification such as CIPS would be advantageous, but not essential.
