Transport Shift Manager - Nights

Role Profile
Our client, a specialist logistics business operating UK Wide, are looking to appoint an experienced Transport Shift Manager for their site based in Heathrow. You will be responsible for ensuring an efficient and compliant transport function on the night operation while maintaining best in class customer service.

You will be responsible for successfully coaching and developing your colleagues throughout the operation via structured appraisals and development plans.

Additional responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Managing department compliance on transport legislation including WTD, tachographs, H&S and quality standards.
• Dispatch management and driver briefs
• Planning and allocation of work using planning systems.
• Reviewing and improving productivity through effective provision of planning information.
• Cost effective utilisation of vehicles and management of vehicle maintenance.
• Incident and accident investigation.

About You
The successful candidate will have experience within a fast-paced operation, with a clear ability to lead and manage teams and have demonstrable experience of achieving KPI’s.

The ability to display how you create a culture of engagement within your teams and show clear examples of developing people.

Additionally, the below skills and experiences are beneficial;

• CPC National / International.
• Continuous Improvement experience across an FMCG distribution operation.
• Experience managing a fleet of at least 50 vehicles and teams of 80+ colleagues..
• Commercially focused, with clear achievements against budgets / KPI's.
• Demonstrable knowledge of relevant transport legislation, including tachographs and Working Time Directive (WTD)
