Product Manager Summary:

Signature Consultants is seeking a Product Manager for an opportunity in Draper, UT. Successful candidates will have 5+ years of product management experience. As a Product Manager you will help drive the strategy, road-map and feature definition. You will work with sales, marketing, and executive leadership. You will help lay out a product vision that is differentiated and delivers unique value based on client demands. You will provide cross-functional leadership, bridging gaps within the company between different functions, especially between our agile software engineering teams, sales and marketing, and support.

In addition, the applicant must demonstrate excellent problem solving and communication skills. You will define the why, what, and when of the product that the engineering team will build. You will identify profitable opportunities, launch products into the market, oversee products already in the market, and wind down products that no longer meet needs.

Duties Include:

  • Perform the "product owner" role for agile Product Engineering team(s)
    • Manage the ongoing planning and daily execution of the product development.
    • Facilitate scoping and estimation of development tasks.
    • Assist with Sprint Planning and Demo meetings.
  • Find and evaluate product / market opportunities
    • Evaluate product ideas and decide which are worth pursuing.
    • Engage with the market (prospects and clients) to gather and synthesize inputs for new product and market opportunities from multiple sources.
    • Prioritized list of desired capabilities.
  • Drive product strategy and road-map
    • Define and communicate the product vision and the planned collection of releases for the product.
    • Assist in developing road-map of which capabilities will be built and when.
    • Internal and external evangelism and communications.
  • Be the “voice of the client” to agile Product Engineering teams
    • Develop client journey mappings.
    • Break product requirements down into atomic units (Epics and User Stories) that can be executed by the development teams.
    • Coordinate with sales, marketing, and consulting to incorporate feedback into product requirements.
    • Develop and groom User Stories with testable Acceptance Criteria.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience working as a Product Owner in a software development team.
  • Previous experience and expertise in writing User Stories.
  • Ability to engage with the market to identify needs and translate them to capabilities and features.
  • Sensitivity to security, PCI, and working with financial institutions a huge plus.
  • Banking and or financial services experience is a plus.
  • Expert communicator who is clear, concise, confident and willing to completely understand an issue and its end-to-end impacts.
  • Ability to work with and communicate effectively across the organization and at all levels of the company.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to concurrently manage multiple projects with varying due dates and requirements.
  • 4-year college degree with 5-7 years work-related experience required.
