Business Analyst Summary:

Signature Consultants is seeking a Business Analyst for an opportunity in Plano, TX. The Business Analyst will assume responsibility for the technology side of one or more long-term client software projects. Successful candidates should have experience in a software development shop of some kind. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in a C# / .NET / ASP.NET environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Gather, clarify, and validate business requirements through ongoing active relationships with the project stakeholders. You should feel comfortable setting an agenda, facilitating discussions, or standing up and leading the meeting
  • Manage expectations with clients via in-person and written communication
  • Write good business requirements and technical specifications (Please be prepared to submit a writing sample)
  • Translate business requirements into technology solutions. Must be able to maintain both technical and business perspective for each project
  • Create and maintain project plans identifying key project tasks, milestones, and dependencies. Business Analysts should feel comfortable either working in concert with a Project Manager, or managing to a project plan on their own
  • Organize and maintain project documentation, including Points-of-View, Scopes, Estimates, Impact Analyses, and large full-system requirements documents
  • Manage change request process for existing applications

Required Experience and Skills:

  • At least three years’ experience as a full-time technology professional
  • Advanced proficiency with standard MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Analysis skills - proven ability to model business processes; to translate a complex sequence of business events into a concise, understandable visual and/or verbal representation
  • Experience with requirements elicitation activities: running JAD sessions, conducting external stakeholder interviews, etc.
  • Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to work directly with external clients and third-party contacts
  • Understanding of and usage of API's

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Background in transaction-based web applications (e.g. e-Commerce). All candidates should have a basic knowledge of web development processes and supporting technologies (browsers, web services, network infrastructure etc.)
  • Consulting background, with external clients, is a big plus
  • Database experience; able to write SQL query, comfortable with MS Access or other relational databases
  • Experience with a CRM tool (Siebel, MS CRM, Salesforce.com)
  • Experience with BI tools: data warehouse / data marts, ETL, querying and reporting, dashboards, scorecards, pivot tables
