Data Scientist (Somerville, MA)                        $140k

Seeking a Data Scientist who values code, open to collaborative “get it done” environment and is allergic to shiny new frameworks.

Required skills:

• Perform literature research on new and existing machine learning techniques and approaches
• Develop and optimize models for our recommender system, predictive analytics, search, user scoring, and a/b testing.
• Prototype and help develop the scalable implementation of these algorithms into a production environment
• Partner with engineering to produce high-performance solutions to massive data analysis problems
• Validate statistical models to improve platform effectiveness and reporting quality
• Experience coding in R, Python or Java

Plusses:

• Practical experience with empirical Bayesian inference a strong plus
• Experience with dimensionality reduction, feature extraction, feature engineering, hyperparameter optimization and/or NLP are plusses
• Experience with streaming, online implementations of algorithms a strong plus
