Manager of Laboratory Services

The Laboratory Manager is responible for the managment of day to day operations and processes to include, but not limited to, supervising, scheduling, timekeeping, orientation, evaluationg staff, and maintianing compliance to Joint Commission, Stte and Federal regulartory statues.  He/she provides technical guidance to the laboratory and unit staff  on POCT, addresses technical competency or personnel through personnel managment, maanages and evluates proficicency testing, participtes in the department's strategic planning and budgetary process, and has fiscal accountability.  In conjuncition with laboratory leaders the Manager of Laboratory Services demonstrates solid understanding of system processes in all areas of testing and maintains 24/7 hour accountability of lab department functions.  He/she assists in developing policies and procedures, and maintains, focus on quality and quality improvements with innovative solutions to improve effieciencies and effectiveness of laboratory operations.  In addition to performing the essential functions listed below, may also be assigned other duties as required.

Reports to : Director of Laboratory Services.

Educational requirements: Bachelors in biological, chemical, or hard sciences.

Licensure/ Certification Requirements: CA Licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist

Work Experience Requirement: At least 7 years' experrience (3 supervisory) in a high complexity clinical laboratory, proven accomplishments as a laboratory leaderr with demonstrated good personnel relations written and oral commucnication skills.
