Design Manager - Civils

Location: Birmingham

Start: Immediately – permanent

This award winning Main Contractor are continuing to go from strength to strength, as a result they are seeking a talented Infrastructure Design Manager to be based in Birmingham.

As a result of consistent growth, the company now require a talented Design Manager who can help manage the design process for civils projects.

About the Role:

• The role will be focused on providing the design lead on complex infrastructure projects.

• You will have a proven track record in the design and delivery of such projects.

• As the projects are demanding it is expected that you will be comfortable working on complex and challenging infrastructure schemes within a fast-paced, professional environment and are able to manage stakeholder expectations to the benefit of the scheme.

• Have a thorough knowledge of earthworks, drainage and highway design experience together with a strong technical understanding of the interfaces between these elements and associated bridge, highway structures, rail and ground engineering designs.

• Driven by a genuine desire to identify the optimum design solutions to complex engineering problems and is able to take a pragmatic approach to the application of specialist advice to achieve specific project outcomes.

• Therefore both technical and commercial ability is seen as keen with a good knowledge of cost, programme, contractual and build ability issues associated with large infrastructure schemes.

• Ensuring design information is of the right quality and keeps pace with project timescales.

• Liaise with design consultants, statutory bodies and client team.
