Role Overview

In your role as an Assistant Accountant you will be directly to the Finance Manager. As part of your role, you will be responsible for all month end duties and reporting. As an Assistant Accountant, you will be managing assisting with month end responsibilities through to trial balance duties. In this role, you are primarily focusing on journal posting, general ledger and bank reconciliations, invoice processing, accruals and prepayments.

Furthermore, a vital part of your role is involvement in weekly and monthly management reporting. The role will allow you to closely liaise with customers and top management. In your role you will be managing fixed assets and counts as an Assistant Accountant. In addition, you will be assisting with the lodgement to BAS and FBT. Part of your role, you will also be part of processing payroll and be involved in yearend audit process. In this role you will also be part of a process implementation in this role and managing project reporting.

To be successful in this role, you work autonomously and values working part of a team. You will also have demonstrated demonstrate excellent communication skills and have a high attention to detail.

 

Responsibilities

  • Managing full month-end close processes
  • Month- end procedures through to trial balance preparation
  • Responsible for liaising with key stakeholders and handling queries
  • Facilitate month end processing and preparation for financial documents
  • Fixed asset register
  • Critically analysing and developing balance sheet reconciliation
  • High volume invoice processing
  • Assist in the preparation and development of monthly, quarterly and yearly management reports
  • Payroll processing
  • Assist in the year end audit process
  • Be responsible for the lodgement of BAS and FBT
  • Credit card reconciliations
  • Adhoc duties


Candidate Profile

As a successful candidate you will have demonstrated experience in a medium to large organisation. To be successful you will have also started or is currently pursuing CA/CPA. Candidates that have intermediate excel (Pivot and Vlookups) is essential. However, candidates that have working knowledge of Power BI will be highly regarded. To succeed, you are a strong communicator and is a team player in a corporate environment. You will have shown your ability to navigating data and processing information in large ERP systems. Those who have exposure to Xero is desirable. Therefore, this role will suit an Assistant Accountant that has a thirst to grow in their career.
