Role Mandate: Growing ASX listed business is seeking a HR/ Payroll Officer to join their team; excellent remuneration package, fun team and a professional work environment.

 

Role Overview

This HR/ Payroll Officer will report to the HR Manager and will be part of a medium sized team that will be responsible for end to end function of human resources. As part of this role you will also be involved in the end to end process of payroll processing. You will be solely responsible for ensuring accurate and timely data administration for payroll and human resources. As the HR/Payroll Officer it will be your duty to process payroll, staff expenses, corporate card statements and reporting. Part of your role, you will also be involved in developing and implementing HR strategies to support the achievement of the business objectives. 

In addition to your role, you will be responsible for the processing of all aspects of the payroll including a pay run of 500+ monthly pays in Australia. On a day to day basis you will process new entrants and assist with payroll reporting and reconciliations. A big portion of your role will be responsible for the maintenance of payroll data assisting in the calculation and maintenance of all leave entitlement data. This Payroll Officer will take ownership of all aspects of payroll reporting and interpreting multiple awards.

Over time, this Payroll / HR Officer will be developed into a HR professional where you will learn all areas of HR including policies, compliance and people. Hence, this role will suit someone who has end to end experience in the employee process and is comfortable processing payroll.

 

Responsibilities

  • Administer and manage the payroll function for 500+ employees
  • Payroll and HR Reporting
  • Provide HR administration services
  • Manage on boarding process – induction and termination
  • Multiple award interpretation
  • Conduct exit interviews
  • Assist in month end duties and end of year requirements
  • Carry out police checks
  • Support company auditors with relevant documentation
  • Assist in data and data analysis, spreadsheet manipulation, and fulfilling reporting requests
  • Calculating leave entitlements including superannuation, annual or sick leave

 

Candidate Profile

To be successful in this role, you are an experienced HR/ Payroll Professional that is looking to step into a team-centric, collaborative environment. You need to have experience in the HR/ Payroll field for at least 3-5 years in the industry. As a HR/ Payroll Officer you need to be proficient in processing large volumes of payroll. You have intermediate level of skill in Excel and feel comfortable navigating payroll systems. Candidates that have experience in the manufacturing industry will be highly regarded.

 Moreover, you consider yourself a strong team player and your verbal and written communication skills are your strengths.
