Base rate: $35p/h - $40 p/h + Super

Role Overview

This Payroll Officer will be reporting into the Payroll Manager and will support in the payroll from start to finish. You will be responsible for the processing for over 1000+ employees fortnightly and monthly. As the Payroll Officer, your duties will also include; compliance with legislation, processing workers compensation and streamlining procedures. In addition to this, your role will see you setting up new starters with varying award rates and calculating termination payments. You must have a solid understanding of employee awards as well as having exposure to Astute or similar.


Your communication skills must be one of your key strengths as you will be required to assist internal and external customers with payroll related queries. This is an excellent opportunity for a Payroll Officer to work in an environment that is rare to find. This large global business provides work-life balance and ongoing support and training. Responsibilities

  • Process weekly corporate imbursements / commissions of 1000 + contractors
  • Maintaining contractor files and records
  • Award interpretation
  • Work with stakeholders across the business and providing excellent customer service
  • Management of mail box inquiries and all incoming communication from corporate contractors.
  • Provide insightful reporting for head count reporting and other payroll/HR insights for the workforce

Candidate Profile

As a Payroll Officer you will have demonstrated your experience in a medium to large organisation in Payroll. You will have demonstrated your ability of managing a full function; end to end payroll role. You will have experience in handling and managing high volumes of invoices and customer enquiries. A successful candidate will have come from a strong Payroll background, 2 – 3 years minimum. Also, a strong candidate will have strong communication and problem solving skills to work towards deadlines.

This Payroll Officer must be able to process data in ERP systems and work effectively towards targets. As a Payroll Officer you must have strong computer skills, specifically with the use of Microsoft (PC based) software and database systems. The successful candidate will also possess influencing skills who will thrive in a fast paced and collaborative environment, and has an attention to detail
