Linux Software Engineer (13:BC-D6-007) Lexington, Massachusetts

Solidus is seeking a Linux Software Deverloper to contribute to the development of a network monitoring system. The successful candidate will develop, configure and deploy an SNMP Manager/SNMP Forwarder. A demonstrated ability to program in C/C++ and set up cross-compiler environment for a different platform for both application and OS kernel, perform Linux kernel configuration and build process , familiarity with Tcl/Tk, TCP/IP protocol stack and SNMP protocol are required. Familiarity with other scripting languages (Python, Perl) is a plus. Ability and willingness to adapt the environments to changing project needs is essential. The ideal candidate will be able to design and implement network management code, write and modify network management scripts, port existing management scripts to a new platform.

Requirements:
- Active Secret Clearance
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience
- BS in relevant area
- Ability to program in C/C++
- Familiarity with Tcl/Tk, TCP/IP protocol stack and SNMP protocol are required
- Ability to set up cross-compiler environment for a different platform for both application and OS kernel, perform Linux kernel configuration and build process
- Familiarity with other scripting languages (Python, Perl) is a plus.
- Ability and willingness to adapt the environments to changing project needs is essential
- Ability to design and implement network management code, write and modify network management scripts, port existing management scripts to a new platform
- Experience with Linux development environment (Ubuntu, RHEL), GCC cross-compiler environment, Tcl/Tk, SNMP, Scotty, NetSNMP, CMU-SNMP is required
- Ability to configure and maintain Unix/Linux workstations is desired.
- Experience with PowerPC Linux workstations and cross-compiling for it on i86_64 for PPC is desired
