Director, Middleware Services (7802BR) Westwood, Massachusetts

We are seeking a Director of Middleware services to lead the strategic planning, development and support of technology Initiatives for the Retirement Services Group.

The Director role will manage Middleware development for Defined Benefit, Defined Contribution, Call Centers and User Interface Development for the Back Office Services. In addition to day-to-day management of the implementation, the role will include initiation and leadership of multi-product initiatives to improve our integrated service offerings, improve efficiencies and define and monitor integrated and product-specific KPIs.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Management and leadership of middleware services group in support of the overall strategy
• Design, implementation and management the initiatives to improve the efficiency and quality of the groups
• Design and monitoring of scorecard and appropriate KPIs
• Partnering with business and development resources to support core projects
• Strategic management in support of firm’s strategic objectives
• Development of key departmental functions and integrated architecture strategy

Skills and Knowledge:

• BA or BS, preferably in Engineering, Computer Science or MIS with 15+ industry experience
• Financial Industry Experience a must.
• Prior Web/Mobile/Middleware Development Leadership experience managing complex multi-year initiatives
• Strong project management skills to lead cross functional teams to implement small and broad scale initiatives
• Good presentation skills to communicate the strategy and build consensus through both verbal and written forums
• Flexibility to manage multiple projects and change in a fast paced environment
• Ability to manage within a matrix organization structure where collaboration is required
• Experience in Re-engineering legacy Web Systems
• Experience in supporting complex high transaction systems.
• Strong knowledge of SOA based development concepts, architecture & information security
• Clear understanding of the principles of object oriented programming, portals & web services
• Ability to lead architectural design, execute code reviews, and develop ASP.NET code
• Ability to manage & lead a highly technical staff
• Participate in triage, planning, requirements gathering, design, & documentation activities
• Participate in quality control, testing & release management
• Participate in the development & execution of the IT strategic roadmap
• Define & maintain service procedures & documentation
• Experience with ASP.NET & SQL Server is required
• Experience with server hardening a plus
• Microsoft certification is a plus; e.g. MCP or MCSD
