Business Consultant (7774BR) Westwood, Massachusetts

Summary of Responsibilities:

The Business Consultant will bring Defined Contribution industry competitive landscape experience to perform analysis on existing processes against current industry standards and contribute to defining the strategy for implementing enhancements to the recordkeeping system. This position will be heavily involved in reviewing business requirements, translating the business needs into clear and concise specifications and documenting all decisions. The Business Consultant will work closely with the Project Manager, Project Team and IT group for the analysis phase and will continue on with the project team to implement future product/client needs supported by the enhanced platform. The successful associate in this role will have both strategic and tactical responsibilities.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Participate in the business requirements phase, analyze existing processes & provisions, solicit business needs and document decisions for implementation
• Identify and recommend appropriate strategic solutions for the future state by weighing existing client or organizational needs against current industry standards
• Map or re-engineer current processes (operational, product, custom programming) to align the enhanced platform with commonly-used industry practices
• Acquire the technical knowledge and understanding of the systems and requirements at a detailed level including an understanding of the data points and sources, system dependencies and interactions
• Continue on with the project team to implement future enhancements including strategy for migrating new and existing clients, evaluate and implement future changes related to foundation, innovation, and competitive needs (products, regulation changes)
• Subject matter expert to maintain enhanced platform including establishing training requirements and procedure documentation

Job Requirements:

• 7-10 years experience in the Defined Contribution retirement industry (administration and /or client servicing)
• Experience as a Business Analyst or Consultative role
• Competitive landscape knowledge and experience (multiple DC vendor experience a plus)
• Strong knowledge of commonly-used business and/or technical concepts, operational practices and plan provisions within the DC retirement industry
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to interpret customer needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
• Proven ability to learn new processes and technologies quickly and possess the technical knowledge to work with the development and quality assurance teams at a detailed level
• Can see the big picture and understand how the project may impact other projects or functional groups (grasp the downstream impact of the project)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to interact with other areas within the company, often under tight deadlines
• Possess strong organizational, time management, follow up and teamwork skills
• Can handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Display a positive outlook, work well in a team environment, is willing to share information, remains flexible in a changing environment and performs additional duties as needed
• Work additional hours as needed
