Mongo DB Engineer Summary:

Signature Consultants has a remote opportunity for a Solution Architect to work on a contract position with one of our clients located in Boca Raton area. The ideal candidate will have the ability to independently investigate, analyze and troubleshoot problems, to determine and provide accurate resolution and root cause. This position performs installations, administration, and troubleshooting of Oracle systems. This role also controls and monitors user access to databases and ensures regulatory and security compliance.  The candidate must have the ability and willingness to be available off-hours, participate in an on-call rotation, and to cover live weekend events.

Responsibilities:

• Perform capacity planning for future systems, evaluate resource usage, such as storage, memory, CPU, and develop plans for future growth requirements
• Design, test, implement, and maintain high availability solutions

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in administration of MongoDB
• Experience with Ops Manager is a must.
• Experience in sharding and replication across data centers or AZ's
• Experience in advanced security options such as LDAP, Kerberos, x.509 client side certs
• Experience in public cloud env such as Amazon AWS is much recommended
• Experience in not just MongoDB but some other NoSQL platform is very much preferred
• Experience with Hadoop or similar big data platform would be a plus
• Ability to work with different teams independently on new NoSQL projects
• Experience with migration to NoSQL databases would be a plus

Key Skills:

• Strong experience with performance troubleshooting working directly with the business users, application team and sysadmin team
• Strong experience with DataGuard and GoldenGate configuration
• Strong experience with RMAN, effective backup/recovery and business continuity strategies
• Prior experience with data center migration project is a plus
• Solid experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB. Responsibilities on Mongo include the following : Manage and maintain multiple database servers across multiple environments; Experience with MongoDB replica sets and sharding; Work with Ops Manager (Cloud Manager); Do refresh from prod to non-prod environments; Maintain database performance and capacity planning
• Any experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop are not essential but definitely a plus
• Experience designing or administering a public cloud IaaS, PaaS or SaaS environments is a big plus (for e.g. Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure and Oracle OPC)
• Experience with orchestration and automation softwares such as Chef is a big plus
• Strong experience with Linux/Unix, shell scripting. Experience with VMware hypervisor, EMC SAN and/or DataDomain
