Position Details
Summary
Responsible for building and maintaining positive image with community leaders, media outlets, the general public and employees.

Responsibilities
1- Directly leverages, influences, and has on-going access to non-reporting resources to achieve results; no direct reports
2-Develops and implements strategic and tactical plans for department including priorities, objectives, and timelines to meet performance goals.
4-May develop policies and procedures for department to standardize practices.
5-Analyzes market trends; coordinates and communicates with others to determine appropriate responses.
6-Establishes and leverages strong partnerships with key departments and internal/external customers.
9-Will be responsible for multiple locations within the region
Public Relations/Media Relations focus:
12-Writes speeches, press releases and position papers on issues, and develops messaging statements.
13-Assists with company response crises to minimize damage to company reputation.
14-Creates Public Relations programs that positively position Cox's residential and commercial services to current and potential customers and align closely with marketing campaigns, using communications tools and practices, reinforce the competitive advantages and overall value of Cox's products.
15-Develops strategies and tactics to fully utilize social media and traditional media to monitor whats being said about Cox and manage appropriate responses.
16-Generally assists with media relations efforts
Employee Communications Focus:
19-Manages wide variety communications tools, including printed publications, intranet communications, employee meetings and events, videos, announcements, etc., that support open communication throughout the organization.
20-Creates tools and training to help supervisors and other managers be effective communicators and deliver appropriate messages.
21-Evaluates the state of internal communications and overall understanding of company strategies and direction, and makes strategic recommendations for improvement.
22-Creates content for myAxis, myHR and various social media vehicles for the employee audience.
23-Helps maintain high employee morale and retention, while also enhancing employees competitive readiness and overall productivity.

Typical Training / Experience - Typically requires BS/BA or Associates degree in related discipline. Certification may be required in some areas; Generally 0-2 years of experience in related field OR MS/MA/MBA or law degree and generally 0-1 year of experience in related field

Dept/Org Scope & Impact - Entry level professional contributor on a project or specialty work team; Work is similar to that performed by senior-level employees in support/paraprofessional roles without degrees/certification to gain practical exposure to application of theories/principles of specialized area; Work is of limited scope, typically on smaller, less complex projects/ assignments or providing support for larger projects/ assignments that have department and area impactPerforms basic tasks and functions for professional field of work; Works in compliance with established procedures and/or protocols.
