About the Position

The Technical Product Manager – Marketing Cloud is a key role for ensuring market success and client satisfaction. This includes developing a deep understanding of market needs and competitive knowledge, articulating product vision and strategy, creating and communicating the roadmap, and driving the product lifecycle. The Product Manager is highly engaged with all areas of the business and works closely with product development, user experience, product marketing, product enablement, project management, quality assurance, documentation and launch teams to deliver world-class products. As a Technical Product Manager on the Marketing Cloud team, you will be customer driven and constantly seek input from prospects, customers, advisory boards, sales and support teams, and internal subject matter experts. This position reports to the Senior Director, Marketing Cloud.


Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product leadership team to understand and communicate products and solutions, key value propositions and positioning differentiators
• Work collaboratively with readiness and launch teams to develop detailed launch plans to support the internal and external roll out of new solutions and features as well as lead special projects as necessary to take product features and releases to market
• Work collaboratively with product and corporate marketing teams to create product collateral, presentations, demos and sales tools to support the launch of new products and new product features.
• Serve as the subject matter expert for assigned products across the organization and externally
• Conduct segmentation analysis of ExactTarget’s customer base to identify key segments and opportunities for differentiation in the marketplace
• Work across marketing, sales, services, legal, finance, and operations teams to solve challenges required for successful product launches


Requirements

• Increase adoption of existing products and development of new ones across the Marketing Cloud applications
• Conduct customer and market research: customer interviews, survey feedback, win/loss reports, and competitive analysis.
• Own and drive feature delivery end-to-end: create storymaps, write user stories, work with user experience on usability testing, prototypes and wireframes, produce requirements, attend development stand ups, review test plans and documentation, collaborate with project management on release planning.
• Partner on marketing, launch and enablement: identify key benefits and differentiation to support product positioning, identify target customers and develop beta programs, provide content and materials for sales and services enablement, help with the go-to-market plan.
• Represent the Marketing Cloud team as a domain and product expert at customer interactions, industry and corporate events. You are the evangelist internally and externally for your products.
• Work closely with sales and key account teams to support specific client requests and commitments.
• Respond to Ideas posted in the 3Sixty User Community and turn those ideas into solutions.
• Prioritize and manage maintenance items for your products as necessary.
• Work with Corporate Development on partnerships as necessary.

• Technical aptitude and strong project management experience, specifically in an agile environment
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related area
• 3-5 years experience working in API related role
• Experience interacting with developers and building out application prototypes with engineers
• Possess a broad operating range, from strategic planning to tactical details
• Experience building cross channel campaign management products is a plus
• Understanding of the roles in marketing and the processes marketers follow to deploy marketing campaigns
• Exhibit a unique blend of business and technical savvy
• Truly enjoy interacting with customers to help understand and solve their problems
• Demonstrated experience in transforming vision into reality
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
• Previous experience in a product, engineering, project management or services role in a SaaS company
• Used to operating in an Agile environment
• Strong organizational skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, including experience in high-level business discussions
• Willingness to travel for customer meetings, attend events, product launches)
