Our client, a leading pharmaceuticals institution, is currently seeking a seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst who evaluates and tests new or modified software programs and software development procedures used to verify that programs function according to user requirements and conform to established guidelines with excellent attention to details.  You will be a key member of the Pharmacy Optimization IT team.


Job Description:



  • Evaluates and tests new or modified software programs and software development procedures used to verify that programs function according to user requirements and conform to establishment guidelines.

  • Writes, revises, and verifies quality standards and test procedures for program design and product evaluation to ascertain quality of software.

  • Reviews new or modified programs, including documentation, diagrams, and flowcharts, to determine if program will perform according to user request and conform to guidelines.

  • May review computer operating logs to identify program processing errors.

  • Tests program for validity of results, accuracy, reliability, and conformance to establishment standards.

  • May identify differences between establishment standards and user applications and suggest modifications to conform to standards.

  • May conduct compatibility tests with vendor-provided programs.


Responsibilities:



  • Plan, create and review requirement based test cases, test plan outlines and other testing related documentation during each project cycle

  • Review and decompose software requirements and specifications for testability, traceability and test coverage.

  • Address and independently solve broad and sometimes complex issues.

  • Create, maintain, and enhance a suite of test cases with a thorough understanding of the application and requirements.

  • Provide testing estimates using approved estimation procedure and templates.

  • Provide reporting on QA related activities to include script development, execution progress and defect tracking.

  • Recommends and takes action to direct the analysis of and solution to problems.

  • Proactively identify dependencies and risks and communicate through proper channels.


Requirements:



  • 4+ years experience in software and/or program testing.


Skills:



  • Knowledge of QA methodologies and industry best practices.

  • Ability to provide recommendations on the release readiness of tested deliverables.

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (i.e. product and project management, development) on release enhancements and issue resolution.

  • Self-motivated and results driven.

  • Effective problem solving skills and troubleshooting abilities.

  • Excellent time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to identify and document detailed defect reports and track fixes through to completion.

  • Effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and technologies in a fast paced environment.

  • Experience with automated testing.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • The ability to work well in a team environment.

  • Experience utilizing SQL commands.

  • Additional knowledge & skills:

    • Visual Studio Test Professional experience a plus.

    • PowerShell experience a plus a plus.



Education:



  • A four year computer science degree is not required, but is preferred.
