Build Engineer

Direct Capital is searching for a Build Engineer who will be responsible for helping to streamline the development process by managing our source code repository, developing and maintaining continuous integration and deployment environments.
Here is what you'd be doing:
  • Work with the development team to improve the integration of our development environment with our source code repository
  • Be part of Agile SCRUM at Direct Capital by, understanding our Agile process and following the process to deploy builds at end of sprint cycles as required
Manage Code Repository by:
  • Maintaining code repository in TFS
  • Perform and administer database baseline
  • Improve practices of branching and code merge
  • Establish process control points
  • Configure TFS reporting suite to custom needs of the development team
Improve setup and build process by:
  • Automating setup and build related tasks, re- engineering builds for better user experience, leading up to building a continuous integration system for all our products
  • Work with the development teams to support continuous deployment of simultaneous projects
Education Requirements:
  • BSCS / EE and 3+ years build engineering experience
  • At least 1 year of experience working on Microsoft .NET technologies using C#
What skills do you need?
  • Solid Knowledge of an RDBMS, preferably the latest versions of Microsoft SQL
  • Experience working with code repositories like TFS or Subversion and automating configuration management tasks
  • Experience with continuous integration build systems (i.e.. Cruisecontrol, Jenkins)
  • Experience using tools to integrate best practices like static code analysis, automated unit and integration tests, code coverage analyzers, creation of sand-box systems, etc.
  • Ability to automate, build and release processes
  • Good & effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and independently while tackling complex problems
  • Ability to learn and work with cutting edge technologies
  • Experience with a plus
