APQP Quality Engineer (013384) North Canton, Ohio

Diebold is a leading global supplier of ATMs, and hold the leading market position in many countries around the world. Diebold Inc is seeking a Quality Engineer in the execution of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) processes in the Supply Chain Stream. In this role, you will lead the APQP practice, ensuring the implementation within New Product Development and manufacturing at the suppliers. Working with electro-mechanical prototypes from development through manufacturing, you will facilitate DFMEAs, PFMEAs and develop control plans for parts, sub-assemblies, sub-systems and modules for ATM products.
Serving as the APQP Subject Matter Expert, you will coach/ mentor/teach/work with Diebold suppliers, design engineering, advanced manufacturing engineering teams and assembly in the delivery of:
APQP process/deliverable training as necessary
Effective DFMEA's & linkage to PFMEA's. Effective MSAs (GR&R)
Pre-pilot process characterization and CTP (critical to process) identification
Capability analysis of CTP parameters, parts, & sub-assemblies
Module and shippable product CTQ's (critical to quality) or "K's" and linkage to the development of control plans (pre-production and production)
Authoring of various work instructions and standard work development as needed
Follow up on CAPA to resolution.
Some essential functions of this position include:
Act as a systems expert and change agent, facilitating smooth and orderly transition from product development into manufacturing quality operations
Assist in development of critical characteristics
Lead/Coach teams/suppliers in development of system/sub-module/part APQP deliverables. Conduct Quality Training as appropriate per Diebold APQP Manual
Liaison to the manufacturing and assembly plants with manufacturing handoff of NPD products
Assist with the implementation of quality improvements and Six Sigma projects using advanced quality tools

Qualifications:

Qualifications:
BS degree in Engineering, Quality, or other equivalent field
5 years in an APQP / Quality Engineer or equivalent role
Knowledge of core tools within the AIAG manuals. Able to use and instruct others in the use of APQP, SPC, Cp/Cpk, DFMEA/PFMEA, MSA (Gr&r), Control Plan, etc.
Experience with electronics and electro-mechanical products
Able to complete statistical analysis and drive solutions
Strong MS Office skills
CQE Certification and/or Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
Able to make effective presentations to large and small groups and to external customers
Able to communicate with associates globally at all levels of the organization and in all functional areas.
