MES Engineer (360) Moses Lake, Washington

MES Engineer This position is responsible for supporting the implementation and management of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) functionality in a 24/7 manufacturing environment as well as business systems supporting the manufacturing environment. The individual in this role will perform functions such as application development, configuration, systems integration, process optimization, process startups, and coordinate third party software support ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Assist with selection, implementation and support of purchased software, and/or the design, implementation and support of custom developed systems that meet end user requirements. * Elicit user requirements from key stakeholders and develope appropriate technical specifications. * Perform applicaiton configuration/development services to support 24/7 plant operations. * Provide guidance regarding the disaster recovery plan associated with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems). * Actively participate in projects related to the continuous improvement of the IT environment. * Perform programming, system configuration, and maintenance on the interfaces to REC Silicon’s manufacturing system to support operations. * Provide system configuration, maintenance and user support for purchased software used in the business support of the manufacturing environment. Coordinate third party support to resolve user issues and maintenance. Schedule and install version upgrades. * Provide timely technical support including design, layout, installation, troubleshooting and maintenance services for Manufacturing Execution Systems. * Provide training & documentation as required. * Provide hardware and networking support as needed for all MES associated equipment * Participate in design reviews, code reviews, incident reviews, process hazard analysis and process safety startup reviews. * Participate in the selection of architecture and tools. * Follow corporate standards for development processes, tools, and platforms. * Serve as project manager for assigned projects following REC’s project methodology. * Create/update application support documentation, user guides, test cases, change and release management documentation for supported applications. * Work with other members of the business community and IS/IT to optimize interfaces to other systems. * Ensure that maximum value is being derived from system, and collaborate on system management, testing, deployment and disaster recovery. * Actively participate in IS and project team meetings within primary and remote sites. * Report status of active projects to management, customers and other team members. * Contribute to IS tasks as needed in coordination with other departments to meet company goals and objectives. * Represent Information Systems function to all customers in a positive and professional manner. * Provide on-call support as required. * Stay appraised of emerging IT/IS technologies and makes recommendations for their use at REC Silicon. * Required to work onsite. * Other duties as assigned by supervision. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: * B.S. from a four-year college or technical school with emphasis on manufacturing or equivalent work experience may be substituted in lieu of education. * Three years of related manufacturing experience required. * Experience with supporting and developing Manufacturing Execution Systems required. * Microsoft SQL server experience required. * Experience developing in Microsoft .NET (C#, ASP, VB) desired. * Experience with RFID/RTLS systems desired. * Experience with VBA, VB6m VBS, JSP desired. * Knowledge of industry standard integration methods/middleware including OPC, XML and Web Methods. * Knowledge of ITIL process standards and ISO standards. * Demonstrated ability to achieve results with strong organizational skills. * Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills are required. * Ability to work in a fast-paced, team oriented environment. * Ability to work with diverse workforce (ethnicity, language and education levels)and with employees in all levels of responsibility. * Ability to stand for 1-2 hours at a time to use terminals, observe operation procedures and troubleshoot issues on the manufacturing floor. * Knowledge of network troubleshooting highly desired. * Requires agility and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
