Position Details
The person serving in this position will drive the technical aspects of the Next Generation client-side platforms for IP products. This position is responsible for leading a cross-functional team of engineers in the development of advanced IP client stacks in support of new and existing IPG, DVR, MR-DVR, EBIF, and VOD user interfaces. The successful candidate will have demonstrated skills in managing multiple development projects across a variety of third-party development relationships. These projects will be conducted in a fast-paced, fluid environment where all initiatives are aligned with corporate directives.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Formation and leadership of cross-functional teams to work on client-side platform technologies in support of Next Generation guide and interactive applications
In cooperation with Cox Product Development, develop and document platform requirements for new products
Formal evaluation and analysis of third-party platform technologies and associated vendors
Define architectural requirements of client-side platforms, working closely with other server and system architects, while leveraging industry technology standards and advances
Participate in the analysis and diagnosis of complex platform issues in support of Next Generation IPG functionality
Participate in detailed analyses of leased-device architecture and software implementation to identify performance and scalability improvements
Communicate status of all projects to technical and non-technical personnel, including peers, direct, and senior management
Proactively identify and propose products and/or enhancements to existing products to improve platform performance and maintainability
Work with field site technical personnel in support of product trials and deployments
Actively maintain knowledge of current and emerging platform technologies and industry trends.

Must have at least a Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science and 60 months of experience with ability to use: Java and C/C++, Silverlight, HTML5, HLS, iOS, Android, and embedded OS. Strong knowledge of video compression technologies, and national transport across complex physical media, e.g. Ethernet, SONET, fiber and coax; legacy STB software and architectures; IP networking and related protocols and standards, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, HTTP & FTP. Must be willing to travel to Cox sites for technical discussions as well as occasional installation/implementation triage work.
