Infrastructure Engineer

Infrastructure Engineer Summary:

The Infrastructure Engineer role is responsible for the operations of secure and highly available computing datacenter, platforms, servers, storage and networks. The candidate will design, install, maintain, upgrade, and continuously improve the operating environment for our client. The candidate will also maintain the ongoing reliability, performance and support of the infrastructure. This includes monitoring the operating environments; responding to incidents, problems and planning for growth. The IT System Engineer oversees the overall end-user system profile provisioning process across all platforms including logical and physical access. The individual will participate in all aspects of IT project execution and day-to-day IT functions including technical innovation, change control and documentation, technology service provider oversight, end-user support, system requirement definition and additional IT operational tasks that are part of the system’s maintenance.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the bank’s logical and physical infrastructure. Ensure the infrastructure system uptime and roadmap
  • Maintain documentation of relevant IT procedures associated with the logical and physical access control program
  • Participate in IT change control process during the execution of critical IT system changes
  • Participate as required in the execution of IT infrastructure procedures
  • Participate as required in IT project requirement definition, solution research, validation, implementation and documentation
  • Perform Technology Service provider oversight functions (project management)
  • Participate in ed-user support
  • Other duties as assigned or requested by immediate supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Management; or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years hands-on technical knowledge of industry standard system security tools and methodology
  • Vmware Certification
  • Microsoft Certification
  • Itil Certification
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with different level/market across the organization – Excellent team player
  • Sound problem solving and project management skills
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking and modeling skills
  • Detail oriented professional
  • English/Spanish

Specialized Knowledge:

  • Proficiency with leading infrastructure technologies. Some of these include VMWARE, Cisco UCS, EMC Storage and Backup, Microsoft Windows, Active Directory; Solaris, RedHat Linux, Routers, switches, firewalls, Intrusion Prevention Systems, F5 load balancers
  • Experience with banking industry regulations
  • Ability to understand linkages between diverse data and extrapolate data relationships
  • Desire to challenge the status quo and create innovative technical solutions
  • Comfortable working in a matrix organization with shared goals.
