QuantiGene Sales Specialist

Position Summary:

Manages, in concert with eBioscience Account Managers, sales of QuantiGene products.  Drives QuantiGene business in a select group of core accounts which have historically generated significant revenue, have the potential to generate significant revenue or are strategic in nature.  The Sales Specialist also supports eBioscience Account Managers in helping close QuantiGene sales in non-core accounts. Drives the technical portion of the sales process, develops sales strategies, and actively contributes to the successful closing of business. Primary sales targets are researchers and translational scientists in academia, pharma and biotech, government, and medical center settings.  Assists in training and sales support for account managers, delivers technical presentations on relevant products to potential and current customers, and participates in cultivation and development of regional key opinion leaders (KOLs). Encourages collaboration with KOLs to strengthen Affymetrix’ relationships and influence. Responsible for contributing to budget process, sales forecasts, regional business plans, and in providing market feedback.

Primary Responsibilities:

·        Achievement of sales targets for QuantiGene products in assigned accounts and in assigned territory.

·        Driving the growth of the QuantiGene portfolio and of market share by supporting the capture of new accounts/business in core accounts.

·        Supporting the Account Managers’ sales activities in non-core accounts.

·        Generating and qualifying sales leads and providing accurate sales forecasts. 

·        Maintaining the accuracy and relevance of the CRM system by entering call notes, key opportunities, communications, etc.

·        Being technically competent on the applications of the QuantiGene portfolio and sharing that technical expertise as needed.

·        Creating and maintaining relationships with opinion leaders to promote penetration, retention and loyalty for the QuantiGene portfolio.

·        Assisting in identifying and mitigating competitive barriers to increasing sales.

·        Providing of market intelligence including competitive landscape and market conditions that may influence the community.

·        Responding to internal and external inquiries and requests for quotation.

·        Working effectively with cross-functional teams.

·        Complying with company quality management systems, policies and procedures.

·        Providing mentorship where applicable.

·        Supporting the company with attendance at corporate events (as requested).

Competence Requirements

Required

Preferred

Education:

Bachelor’s in a Life Sciences discipline

Advanced degree in a Life Science discipline; MBA or business training

Yrs of related experience:

>5  years technical sales experience with platform sales with demonstrable success and pharma /biotech rolodex

>8 years technical sales experience in platform sales with demonstrable success; strong pharma/biotech rolodex. >2 years working in a life science laboratory.

Inter relationships and dependencies

Reports to eBioscience Regional Manager.  Assists sales Account Managers; Coordinates FAS support to sales in accounts. Works with regional & global marketing, sales operations, the FAS team, and the business unit.
